WHEN THINGS GO WRONG IN SPACE

Steve Collins — JPL Mars Roboticist

Steve Collins is a guidance and control engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Steve was Cruise Attitude Control Engineer for the Mars Curiosity Rover and has over 20 years experience flying NASA/JPL missions. Steve's job consists of keeping spacecraft pointed in the right direction, making trajectory corrections and figuring out "what the heck just happened??"

NEON ART

Dave Johnson — Leaf Cutter Studio

David Otis Johnson learned to bend neon in 2002 in Hollywood, FL and received his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2004. As well as using neon in his artwork David has a sign business called, Leaf Cutter Studio, based in Pasadena, CA. He has exhibited internationally and teaches a neon fabrication class at the Museum of Neon Art in Glendale, CA.

Parking

The Design Lab is at 30 E Del Mar Blvd, Pasadena, CA. You probably won't find street parking nearby, but please see this Google map showing the Supplyframe DesignLab location and nearby parking structures:

Public Transportation

Using the Metro Goldline trains is quick and easy. It takes about 20 mins from Union Station in downtown LA to Del Mar Station, which is less than 2 minutes walk from our front door. Trains run about every 10 mins during the day, and 20 mins at night from 11pm-2am.

There are also buses that serve Old Town Pasadena. The nearest intersection is FAIR OAKS/DEL MAR BLVD, PASADENA, CA 91105. You can find timetables or use the Metro Trip Planner at metro.net
