Blog-Writeup! + SDRAM pinout/specs

A project log for sdramThingZero - 133MS/s 32-bit Logic Analyzer

Add an old SDRAM DIMM to your SBC for a 133MS/s 32-bit Logic Analyzer, add ADCs for a Scope...

sdramThingZero got a Blog Writeup!Thanks @Benchoff!

So that's pretty awesome, and again some great ideas from commentators, always appreciated!

Got a private-message regarding the SDRAM Pinout, so thought I'd throw that info here.

NOTE That a lot of information lacking on this project-page is available at its "father":

E.G. below is from my documentation of #sdramThing4.5 "Logic Analyzer

This was derived from an Intel document: "PC SDRAM Unbuffered DIMM Specification". Be sure to look at section 5 which shows how different chip-layouts are accessed differently. And note that some cheaper DIMMs don't follow the spec *exactly* e.g. using one clock input for both sides. I think the drawing above lays it out somewhat more clearly WRT e.g. which DQM bit corresponds with which bytes, etc. But I can't guarantee it would match all DIMM layouts.

And I've been using the Micron MT48LC8M8A2 datasheet for learning the meanings of the bits, etc.

I'll upload those in the files section.
