This is a voice activated window blinds controller using the Texas Instruments MSP430 Launchpad and the C5535 eZdsp. It uses the TI DRV5023 Hall effect sensor to sense the position of the blinds.

It is also solar powered as the battery pack has a solar panel that keeps it topped off. The controller responds to the keyword "window illuminate" to open and close the blinds. There are a couple of tactile buttons to operate the blinds in case the user did not want to use voice activation.

The voice recognition portion was made using the TI Embedded Speech Recognition library running on the C5535 DSP. The C5535 binary boots off an SD card.

The MSP430 drives the servo mounted on the window. A universal joint connects to the wand that turns the blinds.

Two Hall effect sensors mounted on the side provide feedback to the system indicating that the blinds have reached its maximum open close state. The system has several 3D printed parts.
