I found these QDSP-2273 displays and was interested in trying to drive them. A lot of info about them here: http://www.industrialalchemy.org/articleview.php?item=750

I found a snippet of example code at: http://huinink.info/hdsp2003/ and decided to write a full driver library for it. The driver will show static text, scrolling text, and 'hacker' text like this: https://youtu.be/1WZy_O_kJ_Y?t=14s

AFAIK this is the most featureful and out-of-the-box plug and play library I've seen for these displays. This should work on a wide variety of vintage 4 char dot matrix displays. Hewlett Packard made these under a handful of different packages
