Today we got a signal out of our circuit using the function generator but still no actual audio signal. We tweaked some things in the circuit to see if it helped the shape and size of the output. Finally, we started talking about how we want to put it all together and what finishing touches we would like to apply. Tomorrow we will test the circuit with a live guitar and speaker to hear the output.

If I recall correctly how distortion pedal works (by thinking about the waves and frequencies), you could try sending a nice clean sine wave and see if it comes out with much more "wiggles" and all kinds of shapes - that would mean higher frequencies (or noise) has been added on top of the main frequency!
