Freeform RGB Atari Punk Console

An Atari punk console with light sensitivity and RGB LED illumination. Assembled freeform style with brass wire.

Similar projects worth following
Another variation on the classic Atari punk console. Besides being built out in three dimensions using brass rods for freeform wiring, it has a pair of photo cells illuminated by an RGB LED. As the LED cycles through its built-in color changing and flashing patterns, it modulates the tone of the APC. Everything sits atop a piece of oak.

  • 2 × 555 timer IC
  • 2 × 470 ohm linear taper potentiometer
  • 1 × white oak scrap
  • 1 × 4 uf electrolytic capacitor
  • 1 × .01 uf capacatior

This is way classier than my entry despite both using similar concepts. Kudos.

Thanks! You made a really excellent brass butt, for what it's worth.

Deliciously awesome! Even the demo video itself is a work of art. Well done!

I just saw yours. It's so nice and neat, and I like the minimalist cube. I was going to use a 556 for mine, but the local store was out of stock of them.

Beautifully built - the layout is very artistic. I really like the industrial streampunk combo of brass and oak. Have you tried for a "lego person" perspective photo? I suspect that would look incredible;-)

Thank you! What is a lego person perspective? Taking a photo as though I'm a lego person and it is like a large building in comparison?
