Regulator means that the input voltage can change without affecting the output. Is this the case here ?

No, the input voltage is the same as the output. This regulator changes only the width of the sine wave pulse.

Very creative use of old boxes. I like the one made from a broadband modem. Some of the others are works of art. You've given me an idea what to do with this old machinery control box in my junk^Wspares box. Thanks!
