Some old HDD plus this turbo fan (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4796289) makes an excellent fume extractor. I had to print the fan 130 % larger, so it fits the 3,5" axis. Its a bit oversized, so better use 128% instead. It is balanced after ftteling around.

The motor is been driven by a cheap 10A ESC.

A PIR (IR) sensor activates the motor for 10 seconds, if no further movement is registered.

The air flow is impressive !

Its handy, could been fed by a 2S LiPo and is good to have.

NEW:
- Speed Control throu fader
- RGB LED - indicates countdown time. From Green to Red = 20 s to 0 s
- No delays(); timer based .

It would be the ideal project to try the Tesla pump principle!

Nice idea! A HDD-Case could be seald up. I'm not shure about the sealing of the motor. The ingress of fluids could be problematic.
