The Number 5 field pi is a cyber deck for use in the field. It is modular, and collapses into a standard Ammo box. It is designed to be rugged, portable, quick to print, easy to change and adapt. The computer is transported inside a weather -proof ammo box. The frame is lightened by hexagonal cels which allow accessories to be added by simply using a hexagonal shaped plug/adapter. The aesthetic of the No 5 Field Pi is modeled on the look of the Underwood No. 5 Typewriter from the 1890s. It can be wall powered or powered via an 18650 rechargeable module. For use in the field, I use a power box I created which contains a 12v lead acid battery. This power box can power the Pi and and Ham Radios all day. The field pi connects to any keyboard via Bluetooth, and the screen is touch enabled so there is no need to carry a mouse. This unit also fully supports the gadget https://hackaday.io/project/184702-morse-code-usbhid-interface-the-gadget.
