When I can, I modify system, to replace batteries's system with powersupply.

This module was designed to supply Christmas lights
or other, which no need regulated current and many power.
This new version (REV2) can detect surcharge current, over 1,9A. This system commands a simple LED, with a transistor, but you can use this, to command a relay or other.

This system isn't regulated.

To use that it must follow next steps :

1. Plug the system to the USB NOT to the charge yet, and set voltage to 0V

2. Estimate voltage to your charge with the number of battery. For example 2 batterys = 2 x 1,5V = 3V

3. Plug the charge to the terminal block.

4. Set the voltage with the potentiometer.
