Starting a RE analysis of one of these BaoFeng shoulder mounted speaker/mic remotes.

Posted internal and external pictures of the device.

Measurements are in imperial units since my digital calipers need a new set of batteries. Unit is roughly 2.016in wide, 2.96in tall, and .959 thick. There is a red LED on the front that indicates when the PTT is being used. The PTT is a momentary tactile switch that makes an audible click when pressed down.

Posted a file of the outline of the PCB done in inkscape. The dimensions are mostly accurate, with the exception of the rounded corners. I'll be circling back to this once I start the PCB layout.

Outline of Main Board

The main board outline was done in inkscape using a set of calipers to measure the dimensions. Inkscape is a great tool mainly because it's easy to used and free. I could have used Visio for this as well. Would like to follow up on this with added dimensions.

Next post I plan on finishing up the schematics and will add more inkscape drawings of the unit.
