Roku TV Private Listening using ESP32 proxy

It is my only project where i had to do real hacking. Roku does not provide documentation on messaging protocol between Voice Remota and the TV Set. So i had to do some sniffing.

This project will turn your ESP32 microcontroller to a proxy device for Private Listening to a Roku TV in a Chrome browser tab on your PC (or MAC).

Private listening on the Roku app (native IOS , Android) is a great feature for those looking to watch some late-night movies without disturbing family around them. This feature allows you to watch Roku TV and listen to it privately on your headphones that are connected to your phone or tablet.

Until now you needed to install Roku app on your Android or iOS device.

Using this proxy will remove that limitation and allow you to do the same on any device with Chrome browser on it.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Roku TV Private Listening using the ESP32 proxy. It's truly commendable how you navigated the challenge of a lack of documentation on the messaging protocol between the Voice Remote and the TV Set. Real hacking skills shine in such situations, and your determination to resort to sniffing is truly inspiring. Your insights not only shed light on the technical intricacies but also underscore the importance of problem-solving in the realm of smart devices. Speaking of enhancing the Roku TV experience, adding PikaShow to the mix could undoubtedly elevate the overall entertainment quotient for users. The combination of your hacking expertise and a versatile streaming option like add PikaShow to the Roku TV could make for a compelling and enjoyable viewing experience. Great work!
