Currently an IRremoteSync is used in the Kunsthaus Wien in the exhibition "SHOEting Stars":

Short videos (10 seconds) are played on two screens using built-in media players. The videos have exact same length, but also if you start both media players at the same time, after some while the two loops drift apart. Every hour the IRremoteSync sends IR commands stop and after a short delay start to keep the two independent video loops synchronized.
