Looks like a Tricorder

A Tricorder that looks like a Tricorder

Similar projects worth following
I am building a Tricorder that looks like a tricorder, I haven't seen a lot of them that do. Location, Temperature, Humidity, Thermal Sensing, and whatever else I can fit in it.

This is a 2nd build of my attempts at prop making from long ago. The shell is from and old TNG Tricorder toy that originally had 1 LED in it. I looked at that and said, "That's Lame." So I built one with 38 led's in it 15 years ago. I looked at that one and said "That's less lame, but there's stuff now invented that can make it work." So here is Rev. C build of a probably never ending line of broken toys.

  • Sensor Testing

Progress on sensors is finally being made. Or any effort is now being made to be precise. It now make delicious numbers appear on screen. That and the screen was replaced with an SPI based one that allows for fast updates. Serial doesn't like being hurried, the Grideye data does't like to be slow.

The Grideye Sensor is now spitting out temperature data! Yes it looks scary. Yes I'm surprised it is working. Now I have to make it go from numbers to pretty colorful pixels or no one will care what it does.

The lighter is for.....scientific testing..... and it doesn't work very well when low on fluid. (Obvious man)

  • It might work

How do you try to make SMD parts work where a circuit board won't fit? Solder tiny wires to them and hope it works.

    Of course it will.

    Might.

    Maybe.

    The Pins are for testing.

  • Some more sensors

Sensors! More Sensors. Why? Why Not! Why is so many sensors hard to fit? Why don't you just marry no sensors if you love it so much? In fact why don't you invent a safety sensor that keeps you from getting hit in the butt from the door on your way out because you are fire.....
