You have seen many replicas of wordclocks or alarm clocks. Here comes the watch-version. My own watch is running since august 2015 with its first battery. It shows the time, day of the month, seconds, date and battery power controlled by only one button. You can adjust time, date, on-time, language, time correction (manual correction of the rtc) and brightness. There is even a night-mode with reduced brightness which can be set at a specific time.

Two videos showing the different functions of the watch:

There are kits for sale or also complete PCBs with all the parts soldered:

The side is in German, but I'll answer in English, if you send me a mail. Cases are availible in anodized aluminium or wood (walnut and beech). The battery lasts more than two years now. There are different languages implemented (German, English, Dutch and others). You can show the time, date (as big number or running text), battery power, seconds. There is a manual time correction implemented, 4 different brigthness modes and even a night mode, where you can reduce the brightness. So everybody who is interested, let's get in touch!

I recently got a new delivery of housings (anodized aluminum). They are now finished by a CNC and additionally polished before the anodization.

Hello @CF , it seems that some of the front planes are laser cut with the letters. Correct? If so, then isn't it a problem that somethin can attach to the letters and bend them over? Let's say you put on a t-shirt with the watch on and then the steel cover scratches slightly the t-shirt and can get bend?

The letters are so small that it doesn't happen. Also the backside is directly attached to the diffusion foil so there isn't any gap in between.

I would also like to buy one of this completely mounted with anodized aluminum, possibly also an English version; I had a look at the website http://du-kannst-mitspielen.de/elektronik/bausatz-wortarmbanduhr/ but sadly everything is in german and I am not sure that "fertig bestückt und getestet" which seems to mean assembled and tested includes also the case, watch band and which language... Thanks!

It seems the Charlieplexing would make this a lot easier than my version (incomplete and not touched since the Trinket EDC Contest). I was using a premade LED matrix with regular multiplexing, resulting in many more pins. On the other hand, mine has a lot more useful info on the page even though it's incomplete.

Why don't most Hackaday users post full instructions and details of their builds ?!
