Raspberry Chrome

Trying to resurrect a dead Samsung Chromebook with the magic of Raspberry Pi.

My friend in college dropped her Chromebook, resulting in a dead motherboard. They don't have the money for a new Chromebook, so, ingenuity to the rescue! Will it work? I don't know! Let's find out!

This project is going to be the most difficult thing I've ever done...probably. I've only taken apart a computer twice, and have never played with a Raspberry Pi. I've installed various disk images to various systems, so that shouldn't be too difficult. Hacking it all together? That may prove to be a challenge!

  • 1 × Samsung Chromebook Broken
  • 1 × Raspberry Pi Any model will do.

Ordered the Raspberry Pi yesterday, should be here tomorrow (yay, Amazon!). My plan is to open up the bottom of the Chromebook, gut it, but save the connections and try to hack all of those onto the Raspberry Pi.

This log will detail my progress, and I will eventually get around to uploading some shots of the process.
