CAN Sniffing not possible via OBD2-Port

A project log for CAN BUS Gaming Simulator

Controlling a VW CAN BUS dashboard of a Polo 6R with an Arduino and a CAN BUS shield using the Telemetry API of Euro Truck Simulator 2

I figured out that it's not possible to read CAN BUS messages through the OBD-2 Port in a Polo 6R. The OBD-2 Port is connected to a CAN Gateway. In this way OBD-2 Diagnose Adapters sends request to the Gateway with the CAN ID 0x100 and the Gateway answers with ID 0x200.

See this forum thread: http://www.canhack.de/viewtopic.php?t=1193

I tinkered a OBD-2 CAN Adapter and tried to connect it to the Polo 6R, but without success.

I know a few tech VAG guys with the right equipment to read the CAN-BUSbut I need a real clear discription of what you exactly need.

This would be great! I need a Sniffing Log when the car moves and is on. The most important CAN register addresses are: 0x0c2, 0x1A0, 0x280, 0x288, 0x320, 0x420, 0x480, 0x4A0, 0x4A8, 0x5A0

Thank you!
