I've started to consider how I might plant this project in a case. I am probably going to just sell the boards on Tindie, but at least being able to show how to box it up would be a nice thing.

For one, I've designed the final board (not yet ordered - awaiting final electrical design validation when the prototype boards arrive Monday evening) so that the SMD LEDs are spaced to fit on a board-mounted light pipe array. The light pipes "bend" the LEDs 90 degrees so that they emerge from the front edge of the board as 1/4" long 9/64" diameter "plugs" on 1/4" row spacing. The board is 2.55"x1.90", and there's a number 4 hole at .15"x.15" inside of each corner. On the left edge, 3/4" inch from the bottom is the power jack.

The idea is that one would mount the board jammed into the bottom left corner of the case. On the bottom edge, holes would be drilled to match the light pipe positions, and on the left edge a hole would be drilled to match the power jack position. The board would sit on standoffs and be screwed down to the bottom of the box. 3 BNC jacks would be attached to the front panel, and would be wired straight down to the output plug. The hardest part of that is that the BNC jacks fit into "double D" 3/8" holes - that is, holes with a nominal 3/8" diameter, but two "flat spots" on each side to prevent the jack from spinning. Lastly, a hole for a GPS antenna pigtail would go on the back panel.
