This is an RF/Microwave synthesizer built from evaluation boards that I received at no cost from Hittite Microwave and Analog Devices. It has an output frequency range from 25MHz to 6GHz and adjustable output power via a 0.5dB/bit digital attenuator. The heart of the synthesizer is a Hittite HMC833 Wideband PLL with integrated VCO and control is provided with Hittite's PLL Evaluation software through a USB port. It's DC powered with a 12V wall wart converter and has indicators for the USB connection, power and lock detect.
