68K Computer

A Motorola 68000-based computer, with advanced graphics and sound, built in the spirit of late 80's and early 90's machines like the Amiga.

The objective is a design and build a high-performance (relatively speaking) 68K-based computer, with dedicated sound and video hardware, that would rival a Amiga computer. The design will begin on breadboard, and transition to hand-etched PCBs as each section is finalized. Most of the core functionality will exist on a backplane, with a few expansion cards for future upgrades. Ideally, versions of ehBasic, uClinux, and other useful programs will be able to run on this computer.

The initial incarnation will consist of RAM, ROM, and Serial I/O, just to get things running.
