My second adapter is a single piece base plate which attaches to a $9 iPad holder I bought on Amazon (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y4FF1OM). The iPad holder is nicely padded and easily accommodates different size tablets (in case an iPad Mini is not what you want to use).
The printed part is attached to the iPad holder using a standard tripod screw (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B012CLIF24).The first adapter I built is entirely printable. Its consists of two pieces - the base part which slides into the eager embrace of the Mavic Pro controller, and the iPad Mini support which lovely accepts your iPad.
The two pieces are printed separately (I did mine in black PLA) and glued together. I've found Weldon-4 to be excellent for solvent-welding two pieces of PLA together.
