what is the x0xb0x? its a TB-303. i don't think ladyada ever got in trouble for it... but that's most likely cuzz the tb303 is discontuined... it would be pointless for roland to sue her....
my guess is the same as what unknown said. as long as your not selling the product enough to compete with the original product no one will ever care...

i think it's considered as reverse engineering if you reproduce the schematic etc... i know some people in France who got in trouble for releasing reproduction of schematics from comercial products.

Quite frankly, as long as you do not make a profit off of it, and keep it to yourself, nobody will care. I mean honestly, every other company can and will reverse engineer other products.

Depends on the country, really. There are some countries in this world, where even tearing down something that includes (ineffective) anti-tampering protections can get you in trouble due to DMCA.
