This project start when i first discover that from a simple txt file, you can made a simple program that run all the command you write inside.
I found it easier then a programming language that requires more effort in terms of knowing every single word.
I made a chain program for playing with the simple information of a computer can give about your connection, your IP, who is "comunicating" with you, and some simple defence against some unwanted programs, enjoy!

Thanks AlanX I appreciate the passion you have for that kind of things.

I am still new and struggling a bit so I use just the basic commands. I have some PDF books which I find over the internet, and I spend time try to find new features. Is my way to understand  better computer and make it works.

By the way my father is a professor, I would like to teach a bit how to use the computer one day...

Long long time ago (in the bad DOS days), I had a "bat" programming book, and with some ancillary programs to add functionality, you could do quite a bit. Now a days the Macro/Script/C/Bash/Power/whatever shell does the same.

The message is that, this is the "power" of programming. To take a repetitive task and automate it, while your work colleagues (without a clue of programming) are still slogging away at the keyboard.

An example, instead of screen capturing some image and inserting it into your report, I would have a script that does that automatically, complete with the image label proforma. Time take was reduced from two days to two hours. And more was done overall.

Tried to teach my son this when he had some "stupid" data entry problem. He did not get it then.

Now he teaches English as a foreign language. Last time he visited me, he spend an hour or so showing me the system he had developed (using some database scripting tool) to speed up his work; automated/customized lesson planing and student reporting. To say he was excited and proud of the work, is an understatement.

Regards AlanX
