Schema and code added
04/27/2022 at 20:19 • 0 commentsI've added the schema of the project made with Fritzing.
Also uploaded mp3 files for italian.
If you want to replicate the project in another language you just sosbitute the mp3 files (a list with proper translation in english still to come).
And the files for Arduino IDE.
Code zip contains also a "data" folder which contains css/html files for the AP portal. You should install SPIFFS to upload them to the pseudo-file system of the Wemos.

Mp3
04/26/2022 at 22:18 • 0 commentsDF player works with a micro SD.
Bought one and filled with MP3 files with numbers. Spent some times to understand folders and MP3 libraries.
Since I am italian I have used files in italian language.
Found some files with same tone sound of italian old phones. Edited with Audacity to fit the needs.
Made some files with online text to speech converter.

Captive portal and OTA
04/26/2022 at 22:09 • 0 commentsSince i don't want to put SSID and Password in the code I've made code to handle the AP mode, and let the user configure the SSID and password without code.
I have also used SPIFFS file system to host some Html and CSS, to make UI nice.
Finally added OTA to handle over the air updates so I don't need to link the Wemos to PC with a cable (at least when no debug Is needed).

Power
04/26/2022 at 22:03 • 0 commentsI tried to power everything with a recycled 5V 1A old cellulare Power adapter. But that's not enough for DF player, audio, and Wemos.
Since there are also Boost up converter and mini shield driver I have manager to make it work with a brand new 5V 3A Power adapter typical for Raspberry projects.
I will publish a schema with all the parts involved.

Open and disassembling
04/26/2022 at 21:55 • 0 commentsOpen the vintage phone and disassemble it. Understand the Rotary encoder.
Found the correct cable that send pulse when the user rotate the disc. There are a lot of examples on the internet.
Found the control of the switch that changes the status from hanged up and picked up.
Studied, with the help of Internet, how the ring bells work. Found that an H-bridge is needed to invert voltage, found that also higher then 5 volts is needed.
Ordered some components online.
