11Preparing the Battery Pack for New Enclosure
In the earlier revision of my enclosure, I have used battery terminals clips for connecting the terminals wires. However, in my latest version enclosure design, I have removed the battery clip arrangement and decided to use a battery pack with a connector with it. You can see the below image. However, I have I didn't find a ready-made battery in the local market, so decided to build it myself.
I purchased good quality 18650 battery with a capacity of 1200mAh. Then I stuck a self-adhesive insulating ring on the positive terminal.
Then I have spot weld two nickel strips on both terminals. I used my SEQURE spot welder to weld the terminals.
Then I used Kapton tape to properly secure the terminals and insulate the bare metal parts.
At last, I soldered the JST connector to both terminals. During soldering, be sure the polarity is correct.
