1Print the 3D Enclosure - specifically, the AC plug SHIM is needed prior to PCB assembly
The Plug Shim (spacer) is needed to assemble the PCB. It must be installed before soldering the AC plug to the PCB and the AC plug itself must be soldered to the PCB before the AC-DC Converter Module
-
2Attach the plug shim to the back of the AC plug. Orient the plug as shown in the photos and solder.
See photos for the proper orientation - don't install the AC plug upside down! Double check this step.
-
3Assemble the remaining components and solder.
Both the HiLink HLK-5Mxx and HLK-PMxx series AC-DC Converters are supported. The footprints on the PCB are overlapping. just align to the correct one after you have installed the AC plug and shim assembly.
The PCB has provisions for optional EMI suppression, surge protection, and power indication components. The Hi-Link AC-DC adapter will work without these components, obviously without the benefits they provide. Be sure to install jumpers if the common mode inductor (see L1 on PCB) is not installed.
-
4Assemble the PCB and enclosure
Align the AC plug port with the plug and insert completed PCB assembly into the enclosure bottom. If the AC plug position prevents proper alignment of the case for assembly, you have installed the plug on the PCB upside down.
Enclosure halves are fastened using #4 0.5 inch or M3 screws.
