Call button & sound box
Easy to press call button, and a connected sound box with an old wireless radio look.
DIY alarm
Programmable siren + battery pack + detect switch = my DIY alarm system. When the security cable is pulled it removes a pin that closes the detect switch and activates the siren!
Hosepipe Timer
A timer for our vegetable garden’s irrigation system, using a water valve and an old kitchen timer switch.
Radio controlled spotlight
Converted a battery security spotlight to be solar powered AND be turned on & off remotely via radio link.
Solar Fountain!
Converted a battery-operated fountain to be solar powered!
Micro-chromatic!
Colour-changing nightlight lamp that looks like a glowing tube of microbes! Collaboration with my partner, and a donation to our local makerspace maker auction.
Toy Quadcopter camera servo
Added a FPV camera to a toy drone that could be moved using a micro servo. Used Arduino to convert the toy drone's camera/video capture controls into commands to control the servo. https://github.com/MakerThornhill/Syma_X5C_servo
Transmitter StopWatch
Stopwatch & logger for a toy quadcopter's transmitter. Used an OLED display, FRAM chip, piezo, and RTC to set up alarms for when the drone's battery was expected to last. Recorded overall flight time based on movements of the throttle stick.
Door Indicator
Our sliding office door needed a way to let people know when we need quiet. 3D printed a new handhold that rotates from green to red… with a simple red LED for conference calls.
